Community Outreach to Veterans

The Center for Veterans Issues, Ltd. supports the concerns of all veterans. CVI provides information, resources, leadership training, technical assistance, organizational development and volunteer services coordination to Veteran Service Organizations. CVI also provides identification of funding and grant opporunities, along with staffing and housing support. CVI promotes veterans' issues through program service design, planning and implementation.

The Desert Veterans of Wisconsin is a Veteran based Non Profit organization in Northeast Wisconsin focused on improving the lives of all area Veterans through financial support, scholarships, and peer to peer interaction at our monthly meetings.

The 1.2 million-member Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is a non-profit 501(c)(4) charity dedicated to building better lives for America’s disabled veterans and their families.

With more than 1.2 million members, Disabled American Veterans is an organization of disabled veterans who are focused on building better lives for disabled veterans and their families. Our mission is to work on behalf of Wisconsin’s veterans community - - veterans, their families and their survivors - - in recognition of their service and sacrifice to our state and nation.

ESGR facilitates and promotes a cooperative culture of employer support for National Guard and Reserve service by developing and advocating mutually beneficial initiatives; recognizing outstanding employer support; increasing awareness of applicable laws and policies; resolving potential conflicts between employers and their service members; and acting as the employers’ principal advocate within DoD. Paramount to ESGR’s mission is to facilitate employment and/or educational opportunities for National Guard and Reserve Service members.

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit service run by veterans that works to relieve the educational debt of veterans who are serving and have served in the US Military. Currently, many service members who receive higher education during, before, or after their service have to take out costly loans to pay for their education. While there are military educational programs that help relieve this educational debt, not all veterans are covered under these programs. Leave No Veteran Behind addresses this issue by taking private donations and applying them directly to veterans’ student loan accounts

The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) was created in 1945 to consolidate separate veterans programs under one agency. Today, WDVA provides grants, loans and a variety of services to eligible Wisconsin veterans and their families. Our mission is to work on behalf of Wisconsin’s veterans community - - veterans, their families and their survivors - - in recognition of their service and sacrifice to our state and nation.

Today’s version of a “Stand Down” is designed and intended to bring a wide array of pre-existing specialized resources together at one location and to provide a comprehensive therapeutic program to homeless and at-risk veterans that integrates employment, housing, medical, legal and a broad range of social services.

NABVETS will provide personal advocacy on behalf of veterans seeking claims against the United States Department of Veterans Affairs; advocacy for youth in all matters required for successful passage into adulthood; advocacy on behalf of families; with community involvement, provide advocacy in creating positive lifestyles for veterans; and to generate and preserve the historical record.

Our mission here at Great Lakes is simple: Deliver highly skilled, technically proficient, disciplined and motivated Sailors to the Fleet.

Operation Homefront (OH) provides emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Through generous, widespread public support and a collaborative team of exceptional staff and volunteers, we aspire to become the provider of choice for emergency financial and other assistance to the families of our service members and wounded warriors. Where there is a need we do not provide, we will partner with others for the benefit of our military families.

The mission of PeoplePower is to deliver quality training programs that meet the needs of individuals who are ready to succeed, and fit the needs of employers who are willing to hire, thereby providing economic development and financial empowerment to our community.

The County Veterans Service Office is here to assist Veterans and their dependents in applying for a wide array of State and Federal benefits. Covering a broad spectrum from home loans to burial allowances, we provide not only the necessary forms, but also advice and direction in navigating the maze of "red tape" often found in dealing with large Government agencies.
