We are seeking a technically competent, operationally disciplined, strategically thinking individual who has expertise in forensic science gained through extensive work experience to join our team as a Senior Manager of Accreditation. This recruitment may be used to fill more than one position.

The Senior Manager of Accreditation is responsible for providing technical assistance to clients and stakeholders, managing processes for accreditation programs, managing communication and workflow with clients, making accreditation decisions and performing assessments. This position will have a significant role and direct impact on the assessment and accreditation of forensic service providers. This position can be based out of an ANAB office location or be remote (work from home). Overnight travel is required, including both domestic and international travel.

Being a Senior Manager of Accreditation involves a blend of skills ranging from project management to communication and analytical abilities. These skills collectively enable the successful oversight of the accreditation process and ensure conformance with standards and regulations while maintaining an expected level of customer service.

Candidates must have the following required skills:

  • Project and Time Management: Ability to plan, execute, and monitor accreditation processes effectively and efficiently in order to meet deadlines, while maintaining relationships with clients and other stakeholders.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines related to accreditation processes in the forensic sector.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring that accreditation processes meet high standards and are conducted impartially.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to address challenges that arise during accreditation processes and find effective solutions.

  • Leadership: Guiding and motivating teams involved in accreditation processes.

  • Attention to Detail: Being meticulous in reviewing documentation and ensuring conformance with accreditation criteria and processes.

  • Data Analysis and Improvement: Analyzing accreditation data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and conformance issues while seeking opportunities to enhance accreditation processes and outcomes through feedback and evaluation.

  • Ethical Conduct: Upholding ethical standards and integrity in accreditation processes.

  • Diplomacy: The ability to balance respect, decisiveness, and tact when dealing with others.

  • Continuous Learning: Ability to quickly gain an understanding of ANAB's management system and associated software/tools in order to perform job duties effectively and efficiently.

  • Adaptability: Being able to adapt to changes in accreditation standards, regulations, or processes.

  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating risks associated with accreditation processes.

  • Documentation Skills: Maintaining accurate and comprehensive records of accreditation activities and outcomes.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal, writing and listening skills and awareness of non-verbal communication cues.

  • Crisis Management: Ability to handle unexpected situations or crises during accreditation processes.

  • Sector Awareness: Ample understanding of the forensic sector and its role in the criminal justice system.

  • Business Acumen: Understanding of the accreditation business, products, markets, personnel, outside influencers, etc. and the ability to apply that knowledge to assess situations and make sound decisions.

Candidates must have the following education and experience:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college. A graduate degree is preferred.

  • Five or more years of technical experience performing forensic analyses. Fifteen or more years of technical experience in a forensic environment could substitute for a bachelor's degree.

  • Prior experience working with or for an accreditation body.

  • A strong scientific and technical background.

  • A range of assessing (or auditing) experience in order to have the necessary breadth of understanding of quality principles, auditing techniques and application of accreditation requirements.

  • Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Excellent keyboarding skills.
