The Sr. Analytics Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, WI will develop new and refactor existing data pipelines for different products using different ETL tools like SSIS, Informatica, Airflow, DAG. Automate and schedule pipelines sourcing from different database like SQL Server, Netezza, Databrick, S3 and cloud services. Maintain data accuracy and consistency by implementing data transformations using Python libraries of Pandas, matplotlib, numpy and SQL. Guide and mentor team members in implementing ETL design architecture, code standards and code reviews. Work with Data Scientists to design data models for training and development. Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand business problems and provide technical solutions. Work within a data warehouse and data lake environment with AWS data science and analytics cloud technologies including S3, EMR, Spark, PySpark, RDS, JupyterLab, and Sagemaker. Lead efforts to migrate on-premise data systems to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure. Implement interactive dashboards for key metrics that provide insights and decision making. Participate in Agile implementation and maintenance of source control and release procedures including CI/CD pipelines. Administer production repository with GitLab for new and existing features. Telecommuting permitted. Salary $136,406- $203,840 per year.

Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field and 3 years (or a Bachelor's degree plus 5 years) of experience as a Data Analytics Engineer or a related occupation. Experience must include 3 years with each of the following: (1) data architecture, data engineering, and SQL; (2) working within a data warehouse and data lake environment with AWS data science and analytics cloud technologies including S3, EMR, Spark, PySpark, RDS, JupyterLab, and Sagemaker; (3) data warehouses including Redshift or Snowflake; (4) digital analytics tools including Adobe Analytics and Heap; (5) data acquisition, data cleansing, feature engineering, software debugging, and software documentation; (6) Python and cloud compute skills; (7) continuous integration and deployment concepts; and (8) navigating database models and database management systems to create data sets for analytics and model training and development.
