What you will do

Johnson Controls aims to provide groundbreaking, results-oriented solutions to our customers. We are seeking an experienced product manager to join our team. As a Product Manager within the Building Automation System and Controls team, your responsibilities will include gathering and synthesizing customer feedback, developing customer and business-centric requirements, creating, and managing a roadmap for socialization, engagement, and buy-in that you will leverage as bases of your collaboration with Engineering under an Agile development process.This position will be onsite at our Glendale, WI, location.

How you will do it

  • Understand the customer journey and user experience, ability to identify and fill product gaps, and generate new ideas that: grow market share, improve customer experience, and drive growth.

  • Develop product positioning and messaging to support key features and differentiation in the market.

  • Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners achieved through product strategy documents that describe business cases (i.e. monetization / Business impact), use cases, workflows, revenue or efficiency impact, and ROI

  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and development by engineering teams.

  • Analyze market data to develop sales strategies and define product objectives for effective marketing communications.

  • Closely collaborate with R&D team to drive the execution of product roadmaps in Agile manner.

  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and definitions, own Epic and Features in the software program backlog.

  • Scope and prioritize activities based on business and customer impact.

  • Work closely with engineering to deliver with quick time-to-market and optimal resources.

  • Drive product launches including working with sales, marketing, application engineering and programming.

  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.

  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.

  • Represent the Company by visiting customers to solicit feedback on our products and services.

What you will need
Required

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science - MBA preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years of Product Management experience.

  • Minimum 5-10 years of BAS and Control industry experience or similar (i.e. Industrial Automation or Energy Management).

  • Able to develop product and marketing strategies, and effectively communicate recommendations.

  • Familiar with Agile development process.

  • Able to effectively work with cross-functional teams.
