Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Supply Planning, the Materials Planner will support Production Planning activities by reviewing upcoming production schedules for assigned work areas to ensure that the materials needed to execute the master production schedule are available. This position will analyze inventories availability against inventory needs and purchase the needed items in accordance with established guidelines as well as partner with Quality to ensure all raw materials meet quality parameters proactively. The Materials Planner will answer related inquiries for all levels of the organization and must be able to meet deadlines and exercise judgment regarding related items. This position is located at our brand new state-of-the-art facility located in Pleasant Prairie, WI.

Responsibilities
  • Provides daily analysis, planning, and review of raw inventory needs based on requirements loaded by the Production Planners in the facility. Closely coordinates with the Production Planners to ensure we always have the right materials on hand to execute the Production Plan flawlessly.
  • Verify production and inventory reporting accuracy. Pull resources from various levels to orchestrate effective resolution of root cause of any issues found.
  • Maintain and review inventory reports for the Department targeting customer promise delivery dates for visibility and transparency.
  • Working with Operations, ensure that all raw materials meets our quality guidelines and are stored and handled properly throughout the process to ensure their integrity.
  • Proactively work to resolve issues with suppliers with the goal of creating long-term partners that will meet and exceed our needs. Track trends and analyze issues for root cause, escalating to the Procurement Department as necessary.
  • Audit of inventory data as compared to packing slips from material receipts. Initiate corrective action steps based on issues found, looking for long-term, sustainable solutions.
  • Maintain effective communications with internal customers regarding area of responsibility.
  • Establish and maintain work procedures and records for this positions job responsibility, as it relates to and in accordance with the quality system.
  • Participate in related staff, team and/or task group meetings to ensure the continuous improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs. Participate in in-house training programs.
  • Ensure that all operations are within established guidelines and conform to health and safety standards.
  • Conduct a continuous study of internal processed and methods, research new technology and develop proposals for application of such technology for the purposes of cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or related field is required
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing environment with a strong emphasis on production/inventory planning.
  • SAP system knowledge is required; planning module strongly preferred.
  • Experience in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • CPG industry experience preferred

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to analyze data to make sound decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and track record of achieving results with accuracy and precision.
