Summary

The Customer Service Associate is friendly, outgoing and comfortable interacting with GenMet’s internal and external customers. The Customer Service Associate is responsible for meeting the needs of our customers by entering customer purchase orders in accordance with GenMet committed price, leadtime and terms to create manufacturing jobs that meet on-time delivery commitments. The Customer Service Associate acknowledges order receipts and confirms price, term and date commitments using established guidelines.


Duties and responsibilities

  • Build and develop effective long-term relationships with customers by establishing and maintaining good rapport, using positive language and anticipating their needs
  • Respond simply and clearly to customer questions and check for customer understanding and acceptance
  • Ensure GenMet is fully acquainted with our customers’ requirements for quality and on-time delivery.
  • Document customer interactions when necessary, compiling documents and forwarding information to interested parties – including solicited and unsolicited customer feedback
  • Promptly enter customer purchase orders and revisions.
  • Review customer contracts and supply agreements to ensure that all customer requirements (price, invoicing, packaging, labeling, etc.) are identified and appropriately implemented within GenMet
  • Ensure all Customers are aware of and accept GenMet’s terms and conditions for supplying parts.
  • Create, maintain and control customer part files.
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries and issues.
  • Provide job status to customers as required.
  • Maintain and improve Customer Satisfaction and the associated metrics.
  • Initiate Non-Conformances and Corrective Actions from customer feedback as needed. Ensure issue resolution through the appropriate resource.
  • Provide customers with Return Material Authorization, enter and monitor rework jobs as necessary and enter related information in the Quality Toolkit.
  • Develop, revise and continuously improve GenMet’s order entry and customer service instructions, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Associate’s Degree in a manufacturing or business discipline or equivalent experience in a relevant industry is required
  • Familiarity and comfort with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems required – JobBOSS preferred
  • Responsiveness, thoroughness, attention to detail, perseverance and follow through are necessary.
  • Well organized, attention to detail and self-directed to complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Effectively communicates internally and externally to gather information, ask questions and support issues or needs
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to safely and successfully perform the job functions
  • Must be able to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally life up to 25 Lbs.
