Position Summary:

The Senior Biller is responsible for accurate and timely billing for Imagine products and services. They interact with internal and external customers while gathering support data to ensure invoice accuracy and work through specific billing discrepancies. They provide input to policies, systems, methods, and procedures for the effective management and control of the billing function. The role may lead a small team and assist billing management in building an efficient and consistent Billing team. Position also involves active participation in special billing projects, dashboard maintenance, and reporting as requested.

Work Environment: This opportunity is open as a Hybrid role to candidates near the following locations--

  • Grayslake, Ill
  • Shakopee, MN
  • Charlotte, NC

Remote option to those in other parts of the United States.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • May lead a small team of billers and provides support and development
  • Responsible for the direction and guidance of direct reports.
  • Serves as back-up to Billing Manager as needed (during PTO and other)
  • Assist Accounting with month-end close.
  • Provide details for month-end accruals pertaining to key account billing portfolio.
  • Work closely with all sales leaders and account managers to ensure accurate billing.
  • Preparing, issuing, and sending accurate and timely invoices & credit memos
  • Communicating with clients and other departments, resolving issues, and providing clarifications.
  • Work with the Credit Manager and team to ensure clients' billing accounts are set up correctly and according to their requirements.
  • Help train fellow employees on various tasks.
  • Preparing reports and meeting billing deadlines.
  • Invoice uploads, invoice copies, missing invoices in Monarch.
  • Provide feedback regarding billing procedures and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Team oversight for customer portal management and invoice delivery issue resolution.
  • Responsible for management of team shared mailboxes to ensure timely responses and archiving of resolved requests.
  • Responsible to pull system reports on request in old and new systems. (example: Job Cost reports, revenue reports, etc.) Update team billing dashboard data elements on monthly basis as requested by sales partners or manager.
  • Play key role in billing system testing as needed for process improvements or new implementations.
  • Work with the Accounting team to provide documentation during the audit process.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Degree in accounting, finance, or a related field or equivalent 3+ years' experience as a Billing Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data entry

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with people management a plus but not required.
  • Printing background a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional walking
  • Manual dexterity for repetitive work
  • Frequent Sitting for prolonged periods of time

The national pay range for this role is $56,800 - $78,900/annually. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission, or incentive program.
