Job Description

Join the dynamic and cross-functional team at Kraft Heinz Research & Development as a Packaging Scientist! We are seeking an outstanding individual to lead packaging development projects across our Platforms, working with renowned brands across Kraft and Heinz sauces.

As a Sr Scientist, you will have the opportunity to drive innovation, renovation, cost savings and brand maintenance of packaging, enabling growth and ensuring quality objectives and business continuity for Kraft Heinz technical leadership role and will play a crucial role in crafting the future of our packaging solutions.

  • Work with cross functional teams, acting as packaging lead to drive execution across multiple projects from different product categories.
  • Lead multiple assignments/research projects concurrently and possess the ability to prioritize between a variety of business initiatives.
  • Complete packaging testing, qualification and commercialization while working closely with cross-functional team members in laboratory and production environments.
  • Translate research findings into relevant business opportunities and communicate to cross-functional teams
  • Adapt and apply scientific principles to new situations/products
  • Specification creation and updating, with attention to detail

  • BS/MS in Packaging, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • This candidate should have a consistent record of carrying out work plans and committing to results in a variety of exciting and sophisticated settings, passionate about growth, cost savings and brand maintenance and quality improvement.
  • This includes understanding the business need, designing, and implementing tests, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, documenting, communicating results, and commercializing products.
  • Proven communication and collaboration skills are critical in this role, which operates in a dynamic and cross-functional environment.
  • The candidate must also have a technical background and be able to apply prior learning or scientific principles to new situations.
  • This position requires an individual to prioritize multiple assignments/ tasks concurrently and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously, a majority of the time.
  • Proven experience in Packaging Development and commercialization (which can include internships)
  • Strong understanding of key subject matter in areas such as packaging materials, pkg equipment/materials interaction, and packaging laboratory test methods
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach and motivate others.
  • Willingness to travel 30%
